Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Benign prostatic hyperplasia is one of the most common diseases of old-age males. Half of males over fifty years old are either taking medication or undergoing a surgical operation thereinfor.
Laser Prostatectomy: Green Light – Laser method, which has become a fairly effective treatment alternative for surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in the recent years, is used successfully.
TUR-Prostatectomy: Also in this method applied endoscopically (closed system), the surgeon enters via urethra (external urinary canal) to site of prostate, and incises and removes prostate by using an electrocautery. Besides standard TUR-P surgery, Bipolar-Plasmakinetic TUR is also applied in our hospital if and when needed.
Open Prostatectomy: Applied in cases not operable by TUR-P surgery due to severe and extensive prostatic hyperplasia (more than 100 g) and external urinary tract stenosis or large bladder stones.
